We have been waiting most of the day for the official announcement on the Sydney Declaration on climate change that is coming out of the APEC meeting.
We were leaked the final draft which looks like business as usual for coal, oil and uranium companies. Which means, if this is the final statement, we are being kept on the road to climate change.
Perhaps the Sydney declaration should be called the Sydney Distraction from action on climate change.
Or perhaps the koala, carpet snake, joey and baby croc taken to a side event for the spouses of the APEC leaders could have done a better job writing the statement.
To comment on the final Declaration, we headed to outside the official APEC media centre. We were surrounded by 30 national and internatinal media. Here is a photo of our final media conference!
